Kathmandu 2021
“Nepal was an absolute pleasure to visit back in 2019. The kindness of the people, beauty of the mountains, and hospitality ingrained in Nepalese culture are all things that I’m grateful to have experienced at a young age.
My favourite memory would most certainly have to be celebrating my birthday with the class of entrepreneurs and my fellow LEADER team, the day before the pitch competition. Our students made sure that it was a special night, by booking a very nice restaurant in the heart of the city, and asking the live acoustic guitar players to sing/play happy birthday for me while a cake came out - definitely a birthday I’ll never forget and speaks volumes of Nepalese culture.
Separate to the fun outings with our students, it was really fulfilling to see a class of once shy students, open up and feel confident enough to pitch their current/aspiring businesses to a panel of judges on pitch day. Not only have some of the students and I still kept in touch, but our LEADER site team is one that I still feel close to even today.”
